"Defuncsual" thinking

Ah! Today, I received a letter from the Office of National Drug Control Policy:

Oh, wait. That's a letter from a middle school student. My bad. But can you blame me for making that mistake? After all, we've received equally incoherent letters from the Drug Czar's office in the past.

Seriously, though, it's sad that the DARE program and the National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign are still force feeding myths and propaganda to our nation's youth. But, to the girl's credit, at least she agrees that medical marijuana should be legalized. That's so common sense that even a 12 year-old with bad spelling and grammar skills could figure it out. I wonder when the Drug Czar will stop putting crayons up his nose and come to the same conclusion.

I'm more frightened by the belief that people who demand a trial should be punished more harshly than people who plead guilty. That's a nice thought to teach kids - don't just snitch on people you know, snitch on yourself, too.

Please tell me you took some time out of your busy day to give a thoughtful response to this girl's seemingly honest and forthright letter. I look forward to reading your reply when it's posted on this blog.

I respectfully disagree. If we are going to legalize drugs start with Meth. Designer marijuana is far less potent, risky, addictive or unhealthy versus legal marijuana than designer Meth is to legal Meth. Marijuana has never been a major contributor to violent crime. I'm surprised nobody has tried to link its use to the obesity epidemic tho. Our higher priorities should be legalization of Cocaine, Meth, Heroin and the more flexible drugs - rather than a drug that is next to impossible to abuse. B
Besides the hysterical rantings of the Drug Czar about the dangers of Marijuana make for high comedy.

I think the morale of the story is this girl was pumped up with a lot of information from here DARE officer. Much of this rehab she speaks of is useless. People choose "Rehab" because they don't want to go to jail, not because there is any type of physical addiction.

Actually, that girl is against the legalization of marijuana.
