Talk about shooting yourself in the foot...

Remember Lee Paige, that DEA agent who shot himself in the foot while giving a presentation on gun safety to a group of high school students? (The best part is that the gun misfired one second after he said "I'm the only one in this room professional enough that I know of to carry a Glock-40." BOOM!)

Well, he's now suing the DEA for "improperly, illegally, willfully and/or intentionally" releasing the video to the public.

The poor guy claims he's been the "target of jokes, derision, ridicule, and disparaging comments" directed at him in public places like restaurants, grocery stores, and airports. Paige says he was "once regarded as one of the best undercover agents, if not the best, in the DEA." What an arrogant bastard.

He also complains that he can no longer work as an undercover narc since everyone has seen his face on the Internet. Awwwww.

He also states he is no longer "permitted or able to give educational motivational speeches and presentations." Thank God!

Huh I never heard of this one before. well he got what he deserved for not taking care of his gun. At least no one else was hurt.

I think they should allow him to give the presentations, but that he should have to use a watergun. And when it comes time, he should announce, every time he presents, "even I am not professional enough to carry the almighty glock."

I think we should post a link to that video. I'm willing to host it if anyone is holding...

I would just like to give everybody an insight on how effective the D.A.R.E. program has been to my community. I was in the program when I was in the fifth grade. My DARE officer preached to us about how evil and bad these drugs are and the consequences of using them. A few years after I graduated from the program, I heard that the same officer(who was an alcohol abuser)was dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He killed himself while drunk and crying over his wife leaving him. How can these officials expect kids to listen to their teachings when they can't even deal with their own issues. This is once again another example of how alcohol is a more harmful drug than marijuana.

I highly doubt the DEA released the tape. I imagine that whoever was present that made the tape only turned it over to the DEA after being required to (and making a personal copy). However, that person doesn't have nearly as much $ as the feds do, so no point in suing him.
The tape does show the classic arrogance of the feds.

I especially liked the fact that after shooting himself he continues to lecture people, while hobbling about, then gets someone to hand him a rifle. I think this is funnier than him actually shooting himself. People are obviously leaving the room (in case he starts mowing down the audience?) and some people actually laugh as a girl shouts at him to put the gun down.

If he's the best they've got, God help the rest of us.

The first thing I thought when I saw that video was - "this guy is a f*cking stud." He shot himself, and while obviously in some discomfort, kept right on going with the presentation. Not that I'm pro DEA or anything, but I'd like to see any you posters in that situation. I know I'd have left the room screaming.

Anonymous, I am going to assume that your post was made in jest. Admire some fool for waving a loaded, unsafetied weapon around in a classroom of children and then shooting himself in the foot with it? The display of stoicism on his part would have been unnecessary had he been more careful. All this proves to me is the man was an armed idiot who possesses a high pain threshhold.
